InSession Film Podcast

This week on the InSession Film Podcast, the wonderful Jess and Lindsay from French Toast Sunday joins us as we kick butt in this week's main review where we discuss The Raid 2. Going off of that, we hand out our Top 3 One-On-One Fights in films which is almost limitless, but we had a really fun conversation on our favorite fights in film. We then move on to our 2014 Summer Movie Preview where we have a relaxed discussion on all the films we are looking forward to this summer, both big and small. And as usual, we finish off the show with films we saw over the last week.

Jess and Lindsay were fantastic and we thank them for being on the show. Please subscribe to us on iTunes and Stitcher and please leave us a review! Thanks for listening!

This week on the InSession Film Podcast: Extra Film segment, Dan from Talking In Circles joins us as we discuss the polarizing film, Under the Skin, starring the wonderful (and often naked) Scarlett Johansson. This film is certainly not for everyone, but it will at least give you many things to think about and talk about given the ambiguity and steganography approach to the movie. Either way, check it out and let us know what you think!

This week on the InSession Film Podcast, Blake has the week off, but James Shaw joins us once again to help us review Transcendence featuring a regular-faced Johnny Depp and of course, the Morgan Freeman voiceover. Going off of that, we discuss our Top 3 Directorial Debuts, since Transcendence was directed by rookie Wally Pfister, which led into some great conversation about some fantastic directors. We then move into one of the more polarizing films we've seen all year with our review of Enemy starring the wonderful Jake Gyllenhaal. And as usual, we top off the show with Movie We've Seen This Week.

This week on the InSession Film Podcast: Extra Film segment, Matthew from Simplistic Reviews helps me review Jude Laws most bombastic performance yet in Dom Hemingway. After that, Matt from Silver Screen Riot jumps on the show to help me discuss David Gordon Green's latest film Joe, starring Nicolas Cage and Tye Sheridan. Both Matt's were fantastic and this Extra Film gets a little more gritty and raw.

This week on the InSession Film Podcast, one of our very own website writers, James Shaw, joins us to help us review Draft Day, the new NFL experiment starring Kevin Costner that takes us behind the scenes of the NFL draft. Going off of that, we discuss our Top 3 Sports Movie Characters as well as discuss some of the latest movie news, including a new Transformers trilogy and how Sony is ruining the Spider-Man franchise. And as usual we discuss the films we saw over the last week, including a film that featured a pretty good Nicholas Cage performance.

Thanks for your support everyone! Please be sure to subscribe on iTunes and leave us a review! You can also listen on Stitcher and Soundcloud.

Note: Because we recorded this right after our main show this week, our technical issues were still there, unfortunately, so you may hear a little echo in the background at times. Once again, we apologize, but also again, this episode is a TON of fun. And Blake and DJ continue to give JD crap over P-51 Dragon Fighter.

This week on our InSession Film Podcast: Extra Film segment, we continue our discussion on Captain America: The Winter Soldier, but this time in fun, SPOILER territory. We not only discuss <em>Captain America 2</em>, but also lots of other fun Marvel stuff, including Falcon vs War Machine, the Twins & much more. We discuss the possible future of Marvel and how everything in Cap 2 will change the future of the Marvel Movie Universe. Again, be warned, that we discuss SPOILERS about everything Marvel, not just Captain America: The Winter Soldier. This was a lot of fun though and we hope you enjoy geeking out with us.

NOTE: We had some small technical issues with the recording, so you may hear a very small echo in the background, so we apologize for that. However, I promise you, this is one of the more epic shows we've ever had. And you may want to listen all the way to the end, as it's some of the most entertaining conversation we've ever had.

That being said, this week on the show, Fox and Jill from the GeekScholars Movie News podcast joins up front to help us review Captain America: The Winter Soldier, the latest in the amazing Marvel Movie Universe. Unfortunately, they had to leave after our main review, but the awesome D.J. Valentine joins us for the rest of the show as we discuss our Top 3 Marvel Movie Moments and we finish our Wes Anderson Movie Series with our review of Moonrise Kingdom. And per usual, we finish off the show with Movies We've Seen This Week, which is one of the most entertaining and crazy conversations we've had in this segment. Again, you won't be disappointed.

First of all, I must apologize, as we recorded this a few weeks ago but scheduling issues conflicted with our release of this episode so some of the references we make are a few weeks old, but the content is just as relevant today. And on this Extra Film segment, Fox from GeekScholars Movie News and Matt from Silver Screen Riot join me to discuss what they saw at this year's SXSW Film Festival and what we can expect later this year from the films the played out there. Both Fox and Matt are wonderful and this episode was a lot of fun.
